The Episcopal Church's commitment to racial reconciliation means that all leaders in the church and licensed ministries are required to take part in anti-racism training on a regular basis. Ash Wednesday this year is on February 22nd. As is our custom, we will have two services that day: one at 12 noon with no music, and another service at 7 pm with music.

This year we are going to extend Ash Wednesday by also having an "Ash Friday" service out at the Temenos Farm. This is the rescheduling of our annual Epiphany fire, but using it as an extension and deepening of our Ash Wednesday ritual and reflection that "we are dust and to dust we shall return."
During Lent we will be having a weekly Sunday class on Contemplative Prayer practices. Contemplative Prayer is a very ancient kind of prayer that goes back to the Desert Fathers and Mothers (3rd Century CE). Today we would call these practices meditation. Though it's not just sitting and breathing. Contemplative practices include things like centering
