Summer Camps and Youth Pilgramage

Pathways Youth Pilgrimage 2018

We encourage all of our youth to participate in this life-changing pilgrimage program. St. Luke’s has designated funds to subsidize the cost of the program and will work with youth and their parents to raise the balance of funds through participation in the Luna Vista Rotary Raffle and our Annual Tamale Sale in the spring. If you are intersted in going, please speak with The Rev. Terri Hobart.

Pathways 2018 is an event open to all youth finishing grades 7-12. Now going on its third year, Pathways will take us to Sonoma County where we will explore matters of social and eco-justice as we journey to the ocean, visit historical sites of immigration in the Bay Area, and meet with people in these communities who are engaging in the work of reconciling us and creation to God.

Dates: June 24-30, 2018

Location: Sonoma County

Participants: Those finishing grades 7-12

Cost: $500 per participant ($450 early registration discount by Dec. 15 & deposit of $50 due by Dec. 15)

Summer Camps

There are a number of Episcopal Camp opportunities in Norther California including Camp Living Waters (Arcata), Bishop’s Ranch (Healdsburg), St. Dorothy’s Rest (Camp Meeker), and Camp Galilee (across the lake in Nevada). We encourage all of our children and youth to attend summer camp together. We believe camp is a great way for our children and youth to deepen their relationship with each other while they discover community, spirituality and learn more about yourself. Many campers often go on to become camp counselors in high school and college. We have designated funds to offset the cost of camp and will work with families to raise funds to offset the remaining cost through fundraising activities such as the Luna Vista Rotary Raffle and The Annual Tamale Sale. We suggest that our children and youth attend the age appropriate BREAD camp at The Bishop’s Ranch in Healdsburg, where our rector serves as a camp chaplain. The dates for the 2018 camps are as follows.

  • BREAD: Discoverers – entering grades 4, 5, & 6 –  July 30th – Aug. 4th
  • BREAD: Adventurers – entering grades 7, 8, & 9 –  July 22nd – 28th
  • BREAD: Explorers – entering grades 10, 11, 12 & just graduated  – July 7th-14th
